In 2020, Tsinghua University established five new colleges, including the Rixin College, which is responsible for undergraduate cultivation in History, Philosophy, Chinese Language and Literature, and Paleography. Among them, Philosophy has been selected as one base of the Ministry of Education's Foundation Discipline Excellence Program 2.0. In 2022, the undergraduate cultivation of Marxism theory was officially launched. In 2024, the undergraduate cultivation of English major (the Foreign Language Experimental Class) and Japanese major was officially launched.

"Rixin(日新)" comes from The Book of Changes, "刚健笃实，辉光日新"， which means to have the spirit of self-improvement and to maintain an attitude of continuous learning and progress. Every student who enters the college will grow up like Liang Qichao taught: washing and polishing it, revealing its brilliance; forging and tempering it, shaping its body; nurturing and irrigating it, thickening its foundation. After four years of academy cultivation, students would be able to innovate and have the courage to break through. As Liang Qichao said, they will undertake the great responsibility and be strong enough to pull down the tide, as the bottom pillar of the middle stream.

The Rixin College will adhere to the educational philosophy of "integrating the East and the West, connecting the past and the present, and infiltrating of art and science", and rely on the excellent teachers from the School of Humanities, Research and Conservation Center for Unearthed Texts, School of Marxism, and Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures. The College will fully utilize the advantage of multi-disciplinary integration of Tsinghua University to create a college-style teaching environment that nurtures students and encourages the communication between teachers and students by a tutorial system.

In terms of exchanges, Rixin College has set up the “Tsinghua University，the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the University of Macau tripartite undergraduate forum” program. The program provides a high-level academic exchange platform for undergraduate students from the three universities. In addition, Rixin College continuously organizes short-term courses and study tours in overseas famous universities during winter and summer vacations. It has held sessions of online winter camp or summer camp courses, and organized students to study and practice at University of Oxford and Heidelberg University, inviting overseas famous teachers to customize courses, further expanding students' international academic vision, telling good Chinese stories and enhancing students' international academic exchangeability.

According to The Great Learning, "If you can make daily progress, you can make more and better daily progress." The Rixin Students are the main body of the college; their individualized growth, success and outstanding achievements are the unwavering responsibilities and goals of the college, so that a group of outstanding and innovative talents will emerge like a new spring at the college.
