  • Wang ZhongchenFounding Dean

    Wang Zhongchen is a professor and doctoral supervisor in Comparative Literature and World Literature at the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, School of Humanities, Tsinghua University. His research focuses on Comparative literature, modern Chinese and Japanese literature, and modern East Asian regional cultural history. His publications include Border Crossing and Imagination: Comparative Studies of Chinese and Japanese Literature in the 20th Century; Literary and Historical Narratives as Events; Studies on Mao Dun; Studies on Ding Ling; Studies on Japanese Literature; Comparative Culturology; and The History of Chinese Modern Literature. He was awarded the "Tsinghua New Century Teaching Achievement Award" in 2023.
  • Gu TaoDean

    Gu Tao, Ph.D. in Literature (Nanjing University, 2007). He is currently a Professor and doctoral supervisor at Department of History, School of Humanities, Tsinghua University. He serves as a member of the 13th Degree Evaluation Committee of Tsinghua University. He has been honored as a Beijing Outstanding Young Teacher. His recent research focuses on Chinese institutional history, history of ancient Chinese rites, and the frontiers and cultural convergence in ancient China. He is the author of Ritual Governance Through the Ages: Jurisprudence in Creation and Continuity (2025), Inklings of Ritual Studies: From Philology to Classics and History (2022), Tilling and Reading Through Classics and History (2021), The Inheritance and Innovation Spectrum of Ritual Systems from Han to Tang (2018), The History of Chinese Ancient Phonology (co-authored, 2016), and Chinese Archery Rites (2013), among others. He has published over a hundred academic papers, essays, and book reviews. He teaches several courses including "Confucius and His Critics", "State Governance in Ancient China", "Research on Records of the Grand Historian(史记)", and "Studies on Tong Dian(通典)and Chinese Institutional History".
  • Xia YingVice Dean

    Tenured Professor in the Department of Philosophy, Doctoral Supervisor, Yangtze River Scholars Program (issued by the Ministry of Education). "Four Groups of Talents" (issued by the Publicity Department of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, 2019). Standing Council Member of the 8th Council of the Chinese Dialectical Materialism Association; Vice President of the Foreign Marxism Association; Vice President of the Economic Philosophy Research Association. She concentrates on Marxist philosophy, contemporary Western Marxist philosophy and French philosophy, and has led multiple projects under the National Social Science Fund of China, including major, key, and general projects; and she has also led multiple major projects under the Beijing Social Science Fund. Her research achievements have won many significant awards, including the Second Prize of the Humanities and Social Sciences Achievement Awards for Higher Education Institutions (issued by the Ministry of Education) and the Second Prize of the Social Science Achievements of Beijing. She has published six academic monographs and more than 100 papers in important academic journals.
  • Zhang MuyunVice Dean and Secretary of the Party General Branch

    Associate Professor, School of Marxism, Tsinghua University. Doctoral Supervisor. Zhang Muyun was awarded the National Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Prize in Marxist Theory and has led two projects funded by the National Social Science Fund of China.
